Water Heater Installation Or Replacement
Typically, a water heater replacement can be performed on the same day if we can diagnose the problem early enough in the day to pick up parts.
If a water heater has a problem that can be repaired, it’s usually due to the following issues:
- The pilot light won’t light (or stay lit)
- The pilot light assembly is defective
- The burner assembly is broken
- Gas valve not working properly
- The T&P valve (temperature and pressure regulator) not working properly
Usually, those kinds of problems can be repaired with minimal hassle. If you have a water heater that’s leaking water, usually that’s a sign that the tank itself is leaking, and that means you’ll have to replace it altogether.

Conventional and tankless water heater service, repair, and installation
Our standard warranty for new water heater installation is as follows:
12-year warranty on the water heater itself, with a one-year on labor. This means that if your water heater has a defect or stops working, the manufacturer will supply you with a new one at no cost for 12 years after installation. You’ll only have to pay for the labor cost for replacement.
Our labor warranty means that if we installed the water heater improperly or you experience any issues within the first year, our technicians will return and fix the issue at no cost to you!
Frequently Asked Questions
To troubleshoot a pilot light issue, first ensure the gas valve is open and the area is well‑ventilated. Check the thermocouple and pilot assembly for dirt or damage, then try relighting according to the manufacturer’s instructions. If the pilot still won’t stay lit, contact Alphalete Plumbing & Drain for professional hot water heater repair in Colorado Springs.
Rumbling or knocking usually indicates sediment buildup at the bottom of the tank. Flushing the tank can remove mineral deposits and restore efficiency. For thorough water heater service and to prevent recurring sediment issues, schedule a maintenance visit with Alphalete Plumbing & Drain.
To minimize rust and improve heat transfer, flush your water heater tank at least once a year. In hard‑water areas around Colorado Springs, consider biannual flushing. Regular hot water heater maintenance by Alphalete Plumbing & Drain ensures optimal performance and longer equipment life.
A faulty temperature and pressure relief (T&P) valve may leak water or fail to open under high pressure. Test it monthly by lifting the lever—if it doesn’t reset or drips continuously, schedule a safety inspection and repair service with Alphalete Plumbing & Drain.
Replace the anode rod every 3–5 years to protect the tank from rust. Installing a water softener can also reduce mineral corrosion. Include rod checks and water quality assessment in your routine water heater tune‑up by Alphalete Plumbing & Drain.
Gas units heat water faster and may be more cost‑effective for larger homes, while electric heaters are simpler to install and require no venting. Alphalete Plumbing & Drain can evaluate your household’s hot water demands and recommend the ideal system for Colorado Springs residences.
Consider replacement if your tank is leaking, corrosion is evident, or repair costs exceed half the price of a new unit. Age also matters—tanks older than 10 years often benefit from an upgrade. Alphalete Plumbing & Drain provides on‑site evaluations to help you decide.
Alphalete Plumbing & Drain services and installs leading brands including Rheem, Bradford White, AO Smith, and Navien. Our technicians source genuine parts and maintain compatibility to ensure reliable water heater repair and replacement in Colorado Springs.
