2020 was an aggressive year of growth for Alphalete Plumbing, Heating, Air. The company expanded its team of experts by partnering with a 30-year veteran of the industry and once ‘plumber to the stars’ in Southern California. The organization launched the region’s first virtual services that were celebrated across Southern Colorado during the rise of COVID-19. Alphalete was named the 2020 Hispanic Business of the Year by the Colorado Springs Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

Diego has 16 years of experience in the plumbing industry: 10 of those years were spent in management, and now five years running his own business. Originally from Alamosa, Colorado, he spent his early years bucking hay bales on his grandfather’s ranch in the San Luis Valley. This early exposure to hard work gave him a rock-solid work ethic that paid off when he later worked for his family’s roofing company. Over time, he learned two things about himself: first, that he wanted to be a plumber rather than a roofer, and second, that he wanted to start his own business. After five years in the industry, he earned his journeyman plumber’s license, then went on to earn his master plumber’s license and then a plumbing contractor’s license as quickly as he could. Diego loves the plumbing industry and is working on starting a “plumbing revolution” to educate people on what plumbing is all about, why we need plumbers, and helping to inspire the next generation of plumbing professionals. His goal is to improve his own life while also improving the lives of others by building the best plumbing, heat, and air company in the country.

Alphalete Plumbing & Heat Taps 30-year HVAC Specialist as Latest Strategic Partner

Former Technician to Bob Hope and Frank Sinatra now offers same level of leading expertise to Southern Colorado

Colorado Springs, Colo. – January 28, 2021 – Alphalete Plumbing & Heat, a leading residential plumbing and heat contractor serving southern Colorado, is pleased to announce Bob du Pignac as the newest addition to its team. With several decades of experience, du Pignac offers a wealth of plumbing and HVAC knowledge to all Alphalete customers.

“We are thrilled to add Bob to our team,” said Diego Lujan, founder of Alphalete Plumbing & Heat, who was named the 2020 Hispanic Business of the Year by the Colorado Springs Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. “Bob is a walking encyclopedia. He’s got an enormous amount of skill and talent, and his customer service is absolutely top-notch. Bringing him on board will allow Alphalete to build a whole new division focused on HVAC systems, in addition to the plumbing and radiant heat we’ve always offered.”

A multi-talented service technician, du Pignac began his plumbing and HVAC career in Palm Springs, California as a teenager, working as a plumber, which helped him pay for college where he earned a degree in architecture from Cal Poly, Pomona. After graduation, he spent several years designing luxury homes in Southern California.

When the custom home market was affected by Desert Storm, du Pignac went back to the nostalgic work of his youth and reactivated his plumbing license, where he then earned his Master Plumber license and served as “plumber to the stars,” working on the homes of celebrities such as Frank Sinatra, Bob Hope, Ginger Rogers, and Red Skelton. 

In 1993, he decided to escape the desert heat and relocate with his family to Colorado Springs.

“I am excited to join Diego and his team,” said du Pignac. “Alphalete has a reputation for being tech-savvy, innovative, and truly customer-focused, which was a perfect match for me. People wonder sometimes what it was like providing service for celebrities and my answer is: I’ve always tried my hardest to bring the highest level of service and professionalism to every client, no matter how demanding.
